This song was written for all the women whose journey is to defeat breast cancer and the people who care for them. My mother battled the disese for twenty five years. It als claimed the lives of my Aunt and best friend Elsie and my mother in-law Agnes Sergeant.

In the first world wwar the Ulster 36th division was the only regiment to reach their objective at the Battle of the Somme only to be slaughtered returning to their lines. After the Somme they fought side by side with the 16th Irish Divison for many of these young men it was their firdt and final journey

Flags Of Our Fathers
Capt Doug Beattie of the Royal Irish Rangers wrote a book called 'An Ordinary Soldier' about the horror of war in Afghaistan. Stephen Walker Royal Marines,Nigel Moffet Light Dragoons,David Potter Parachute regiment,David Dalzell Royal Irish and Day Canning Medical Regiment all from Northern Ireland lost their lives in this conflict. Politicians start wars soldiers are sent to end them.

My friend Grahame in Australia originall from Northern ireland has had major heart surgery at fifty three. He was talking over a coffee and made the statement above. He is now on a new journey to get back to good health again and with his positive attituide I am sure he will succed

In The seventeen century over a quarter of a million people made their journey to the New World and came to be knowen as the Scots Irish. They were part of the plantation of Ulster and were forced off the land by rack renting and being unable to practice their presbyterian faith no other race contributed more to what is knowen as the United States Of America. There are many people who now use the term Ulster-Scots when referencing this disapora..
